Questions

Where is the data from?
  • Orange County cases, hospitalizations, tests, deaths, age/sex/race info and populations are from the OC.gov / OC Health Care Agency found here.
  • The California cases/deaths is taken from LA Times' database here.
  • The California population is taken from the California Department of Finance report here
When is the data updated?
  • I try my best to update it daily as soon as the data is published. It is a manual process so I may sometimes be late if I'm busy that day.
  • The California cases and deaths are from the LA Times database which is not managed by me, so it updates whenever they update it.
Can you add "this" chart?
  • The data that I'm showing is all the detail available publicly directly from OC Health Agency (with exception of the California compared charts). If the county releases more detail breakdowns, I will incorporate it into the site.
  • I want to avoid using different data sources to ensure that at least I'm using data that is measured as consistenly as possible. There are too many sources reporting different counts for OC, that I have to pick one, and I choose to use the one on the official OC Health Agency site.
Where can I report bugs/request features?
  • Email me
  • Occasionally I will conduct surveys for people to vote for new features
Can I share this site with my mom?
  • Feel free to share this site with anyone you want
Are you affiliated with the County?
  • No, I am just a private OC resident looking to create a informative tool for the all the residents of OC.
